I love how this is the start of a series using alphabet animals as the characters. It shared a great lesson on friendship and how we make assumptions and judgments about people before getting to know and understand them. I like how all the school characters were shaped like letters of the alphabet. The story also emphasizes the different sounds of the letter "A," highlighting where it is found in each word. The fun facts about armadillos at the end were a nice touch as well.

Such a creative and thoughtful way to introduce emotions alongside the alphabet! I loved the focus on pairing a letter with a feeling. The story is very sweet overall, with charming examples that make it both fun and meaningful. Overall, a really cute and clever read.

The writing style is warm and gently rhyming in places, making every scene engaging and easy to read aloud. As an educator, I especially appreciated the positive way moods were explored and resolved, offering young readers thoughtful cues about kindness and friendship without ever feeling too serious.  The illustrations bring every page to life with fascinating textures and soft, watercolor-like hues. I think anyone reading this story will stay engaged because, while it's playful, it also teaches a great lesson. The writing style is warm and gently rhyming in places, making every scene engaging.
